John O’Groats Book Festival held their first event in the new mill extension on Friday 20th June.  ‘An Evening with Billy Kay’ saw the author and broadcaster give insights into Scottish linguistic history to a crowd of over 30.  The entertaining talk covered topics from his new book ‘Born in Kyle: A Love Letter tae an Ayrshire Childhood’ with tales of small town living proving relatable to the Caithness crowd.
